Biohub、米政府機関などと生物AIデータ整備で18億ドル規模の協力
- Biohubは10月7日、米エネルギー省や米国立衛生研究所などと、生物AIの学習用データ整備に関する協力拡大を発表した。
- 総額18億ドル相当には資金に加えデータや計算資源を含み、Google DeepMind、Isomorphic Labs、Metaが計3億ドルを拠出する。
- 米国立衛生研究所が過去の連邦投資によるデータを提供し、BiohubがAI学習向けに標準化して研究者向けの公開資源にする計画だ。

OpenAI、内部AIモデルによる数学研究の論文群を公開
- OpenAIは米東部時間10月6日夕方、内部AIモデルによる数学研究を公開し、公式リポジトリに372群に整理した722本の原稿を掲載した。
- 同社は一部の証明を検証言語Leanの形式でも公開したが、全原稿の検証が完了したわけではない。
- OpenAIは未形式化の結果に問題があり得ると認めて修正と検証を続ける方針で、助言した数学者団体も人間による評価の始まりとしている。

Microsoft、NVIDIA搭載のSurface予約開始を発表
- Microsoftは10月7日、NVIDIA RTX Spark搭載Surface Laptop Ultraの予約開始を発表し、2599ドルからで10月16日提供開始を予定する。
- 同社によると最大128GBの統合メモリーを備え、1200億パラメーターを超えるAIモデルを端末上で実行できる。
- 同社はPC内とクラウドを使い分けるWindows構想も示し、開発者向けSurface RTX Spark Dev Boxは5999ドルで米国では11月出荷を予定する。

Common Sense Media、未成年向けChatGPTを高リスクと評価
- Common Sense MediaのYouth AI Safety Instituteは10月7日、ChatGPT for Teensを「受け入れられないリスク」と評価した。
- 13〜17歳のアカウントで4000件超の入力を試したところ、自傷行為などの会話で保護者への通知が機能しない例があったと報告した。
- 同研究所は改善まで18歳未満の利用制限を求め、OpenAIは保護者機能の有効化前に試験した可能性があるとして評価方法に異議を唱えている。
